Himalayan lakes in Nepal are under risk of long range transport of anthropogenic pollutants: Recently published an article in international journal "Water, Air and Soil Pollution" by HERI team with collaboration with Chinese Academy of Sciences and Lappeenranta University of Technology. This study is related to mercury and trace elements in waters of Lake Gosainkunda and Lake Phewa. This article indicates the possible long-range transport of some of these elements to high altitude lakes of remote pristine environments.
